I am making art at every moment, my mind swims with it. I walk in the city and the suburbs and find small, discarded objects. I squirrel them away into my special yellow bag. These treasures come with me into the studio and play together, climbing higher to reach the sky, sometimes precarious, sometimes confident against toppling. When I’m not looking, they resolve themselves, telling me that they belong to the friends beside them. I am now accustomed to having much of my progress cannibalised from one artwork into another. It’s my turn to add the glue. You can see they have a new stance that means they are confident to be seen. I can trust (patiently or impatiently) in the studio gravity.
